How Many Random Matches Happen Before a Real Conversation?
This study counts how many random matches — and skips — typically happen on MonkeyCam before a real conversation takes hold, where both people stay and actually talk.
Skipping is a core part of the random video chat experience: it is how people find someone they want to talk to. Knowing how many matches it usually takes before a conversation sticks helps set honest expectations for new users.
Data collection in progress.
Collecting anonymous sessions — this study publishes after the minimum sample and study-period requirements are met.
What We Measure
- How many matches occur in an anonymous session before a valid conversation begins.
- How often matches are skipped, and how quickly.
- How skip behavior varies across sessions during the study period.
Methodology Summary
This study is built from anonymous MonkeyCam sessions. Events are flagged and cleaned before analysis, and results are only published once the sample and study-period requirements are met.
